Global Trends

  • By the end of 2010, there'll be 2 billion internet users worldwide, as oppose to 361 million in 2000. To put that into perspective, that's barely two-thirds of the size of Facebook today.

  • Worldwide Internet traffic has grown by 62% in 2010. The regions experiencing the fastest year on year growth -- Eastern Europe and India/South Asia, -- average traffic growth exceeded 100%, and Middle East -- traffic rose just under 100%.

  • More than 1 in 5 people in the developing world are online.

  • 1 in 5 children in UK have gone without food or sleep to stay online.
