Microsoft released the Tag Reader for iOS 4 devices on the Apple App Store.

Q: What's new with this update of the Reader?
A: The update ensures that the Tag Reader works optimally on any iOS4 device. We also made some general stability and usability improvements.

Q: What devices are supported with this release?
A: Any iOS4-capable device with a camera is supported with this release, including the iPod Touch 4G that now has a camera and runs iOS4.

Q: Will this release affect users that don't run iOS4?
A: Apple made some changes to the use of private APIs, which means the "scan mode" of the Tag Reader won't work on iPhones not running iOS4. Users should upgrade their devices to iOS4 to enable this optimal input mode for the Tag Reader. If they choose not to upgrade their device, they'll only be allowed to take pictures of the bar code in "snap mode".
