Android Gains 6.5% Reaches 21.4% U.S. Smartphone Subscribers, Samsung Top Mobile OEM, comScore Reports

In the Smartphone platform, RIM leads with 37.3% share of U.S. smartphone subscribers, followed by Apple with 24.3%. Google continues to gain ground in the market, rising 6.5% points to capture 21.4%. Microsoft accounted 10.0%. Despite losing share to Google Android, most smartphone platforms continue to gain subscribers as the smartphone market overall continues to grow.
