Excito, Sweden launched a new Linux-powered home server from succinctly named "B3" is a single drive, small footprint server for home users, small businesses and workgroups. Its relatively humble spec consists of a 1.2GHz ARM processor, 512MB RAM with 2 Gigabit Ethernet sockets, integrated 802.11n Wi-Fi, two USB 2,0 ports and a single eSATA for storage expansion. With a maximum power consumption of just 13W, the B3 can be configured with a choice of 500GB, 1TB or 2TB drives or a 40GB SSD for a little extra speed.

It can serve as a wireless router and firewall on the network and offers a range of additional tricks including use as a file and print server, media streamer (with Firefly and Squeezebox Server apps on board), client backup device, web server with Apache, MySQL and PHP as well as a download manager for torrent, HTTP and FTP downloads.
