Oregan Networks and Digital Streams launched "Onyx STB" that offers a simple way for consumers to stream UK's popular Internet video services and music, as well as accessing photo sharing and social networking sites on their televisions. To offer consumers maximum freedom of choice, media player allows access to multiple branded content outlets via a slick and animated user interface. These include catch-up TV, leading movie rental services and User Generated Content, such as YouTube, BBC iPlayer in HD and various video podcasts. Other widget based apps include Facebook, Twitter, Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food, BBC News and BBC Sports and Accedo FunSpot games. The device provides access to millions of videos at any given time, with much of content free of charge, and blockbuster movies available for instant streaming via subscription or pay-per-view purchase models.

The device ships with SCART and HDMI connectors for AV, as well as Ethernet and 2 USB 2.0 USB ports for accessing storage devices. Video formats supported included MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, VC-1 andWMV9 MP@HL plus MPEG-1 Layer 2, 3, Dolby Digital (AC3), AAC+, WMA, DDP and DTS audio. Whilst the box supports high definition content, this is at a maximum resolution of 1080i over HDMI.
