HP introduces its first HP ProLiant MicroServer $329/£220 4-bay budget server designed to enable small companies to confidently grow their businesses while taking advantage of the reliability, performance and security of a server. Whilst this model is designed with Windows Server 2008 R2 or Red Hat's Enterprise Linux 5 in mind, it doesn't take a great leap of imagination to see MicroServer offering a great solution for upcoming Windows Server Aurora.

MicroServer is powered by AMD's Athlon Neo II N36L processor, running at 1.3MHz. 1 GB of PC3-10600E DDR3 RAM upgradable upto 8GB Unbuffered ECC RAM across two memory slots, onboard SATA controller supports RAID 0 and 1 only (no RAID 5/6 options), Gigabit LAN port, DVD drive, remote access card, four drive bays, seven USB 2.0 ports, and a rear eSATA connector.
