Microsoft suing software reseller Jigantic.com, alleging they've engaged in a "bait-and-switch" scheme involving SQL Server database. The suit, filed on Aug. 27 in federal court, Connecticut, says "the site is marketing and selling what're purported to be actual user licenses for program. But rather than registering actual licenses with Microsoft after the sale, the company is switching them to orders for Microsoft's Software Assurance maintenance and service program, which don't include actual licenses for software usage".

Microsoft says in the suit that an investigator made a test purchase after the company became aware of "unusual sales activity" involving the site.

The suit seeks an injunction and damages.
