Hitwise released the latest U.S. search engine market share numbers for July 2010, Ask.com did get a 6% jump from June, Hitwise says…. "Google accounted 71.43 in four weeks ending Aug. 1, 2010. Yahoo! Search, Bing and Ask received 14.43%, 9.86% and 2.32%."

Also, Google is greatest source of traffic to key U.S. industries; Bing sees continued growth to verticals. Among top three search engines, Google delivered most visits to Automotive, Shopping and Travel categories. Bing saw double-digit growth in Automotive, Health, Shopping and Travel - including an 84% increase in Shopping category.

Longer search queries - 5 to 8 words - increased 1%, 4- to 7-word searches increased 1%. 2-word searches comprised the majority of searches, amounting to 23.41%.
