Microsoft revealed that "computer running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 with third-party app for multiple transport Media Transfer Protocol device or for Windows Portable Device. When you connect MTP or WPD device to omputer for the first time; you receive following stop error message: "STOP: 0x00000001 (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4) APC_INDEX_MISMATCH." "This issue occurs because of a race condition in Compositebus.sys driver. When a MTP or WPD device connects to computer first time, the composite bus enumerator detects the device and tries to install WPD composite driver. During installation process, 3rd-party app may run a USB device reset command. If the reset command occurs in a certain period, the race condition occurs. This certain period is after MTP and USB driver or MTP and IP driver is installed and before MTP composite multiple transport driver is installed," explain Microsoft in KB2203330.
