Apple released iOS 4.0.2 mobile opertaing system update for the iPod touch, iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPhone 4, alongwith iOS 3.2.2 for the iPad. The update patches a security vulnerability in Safari, that hacker @Planetbeing used to create JailbreakMe tool, and Ultrasn0w iPhone 4. While patching for iPhone 4 3G, 3GS, Apple left untouched its 1st generation iPhone devices.

"Comex," the developer tweeted that "[I] guess I need to get working on the next jailbreak," likely in reference to the anticipation that Apple was about to update iOS, which it did indeed do.

The massive 579MB update is available through iTunes for the iPhone and iPod touch. Users wishing to update to new software would be able to do so by connecting their iOS device to iTunes, and clicking "Check for Update." Similarly, those who may be in line for an automated weekly check for updates may start being prompted to upgrade beginning today.
