Google sent out invites for a Google Mobile event helding at company's San Francisco offices, this August 12th. There's not much info available, other than that Google will be "unveiling a couple of cool new mobile features."

Kara Swisher is speculating that "Google's Hugo Barra's demonstration could include "video calling support," to rival Apple iPhone FaceTime, which allows picture-in-picture chat via Wi-Fi. Native support for video calling isn't yet present on Android devices -- So it's a plausible thought that Google is keen to add support for video calling as soon as possible to avoid losing ground to Apple, once allies and now, well, not so much."

Swisher also "speculate the possibility that Google could release it's own Android-based "Find my Phone", similiar to Apple's 'Find my iPhone' app which allows iPhone users to track their devices and wipe or display messages on the device if lost."
