Disqus, online comments system with over 500,000 registered communities and 13 million profiles, launched some new social features:

  • Global community profiles is completely revamped. You can now bring up anyone's profile anywhere by clicking the avatar, a small box pop open, and displays both user's key stats (number of comments, homepage, etc.) and an activity stream, which includes full listing of their recent comments and any posts they've made to their blog and other services they've connected to Disqus, like Facebook and Twitter all on same page.
     
  • Community Box let you find stats for the number of comments posted /liked, and total number of unique people who've posted within that community. Underneath leaderboards showcase most active and most liked people of the community.

  • Likes, dislikes, and more likes. Disqus now letting you "Like" a page or article itself in addtion to comments. Disqus CEO Daniel Ha says that users can link their Disqus and Facebook accounts so that "Liking" something on Disqus will also "Like" it on Facebook. He also says that publishers can turn it off if they're worried about confusing users.
