Windows Live Hotmail Wave 4 loaded with lots of new features, improved performance &user experience, and no more text promotions in message footers. The team rolled out Wave 4 to over 100 million people, and would complete by next week.

Despited all these goodies, still, one thing bothers, "the big vertical billboard on the right-hand side of inbox." Fortunately, like GMail, Yahoo! Mail's ads blocker (Firefox addon), it's easy to hide in Hotmail too —all you need is Windows Live Ad Remover userscript:

  • Chrome users can simply click; "install button" located at the top right.
  • Firefox users install Greasemonkey add-on, then clicking ".user.js" link pop up script installation panel. Greasemonkey shows you a list of what sites the script will run on and ask if you want to install the script. Now loading a web page results in additional code (the userscript) being run.
  • Safari need Greasekit.
  • Opera see this guide for installing scripts, and here for details on which Greasemonkey scripts are likely to work.
  • Internet Explorer users can try either Trixie or IE7Pro.
