Blogger: Google allows using Your Own Photo for a Blog's background image

Have you used Blogger Template Designer, Google now added a features to Blogger in draft; "ability to upload your own or from iStockPhoto to be used as background image. Just go to Design | Template Designer | Background, click on Background Image, and clicking "Upload image" allow you to select and upload your image.

Recommended resolution of a image is 1800/1600 pixels, file size less than 200KB to minimize loading timeand supported fromat are JPEG, GIF, and PNG," revealed Google.

Once you upload a photo, you'll see options such as:

  • Alignment to adjust horizontal, and vertical alignment of a background image.
  • Repeat Tile let you repeat a small image horizontally and/or vertically to fill entire page. Else, choose a page background color that blends with your background image.
  • By selecting "Scroll with page option," both background image and page contents scroll together, by default image stays in place while readers scroll the page contents.
