In past week, Windows Embedded Standard 7 Compatible Applications website re-launched with a new design, new documentation, new templates, and refactored templates. "static HTML view is replaced with dynamic site that's searchable and sortable and includes expanding rows to more easily view only information on the templates that you want and need. By refactoring many of the templates, we removed unnecessary packages that had little to no impact on apps functionality and decreased the footprint needed for app to install and run," explains Microsoft.

For e.g., footprint of 32-bit Silverlight 4 template was decreased over 350 MB, from 1.36 GB to 1.01GB. We also replaced some old templates with new, JRE 1.5 template replaced with 1.6, and eTrust Antivirus template replaced with CA Antivirus 8.1 in its place.
