Microsoft recently released Silverlight Symbian, however, Nokia S60 web browser crashes upon visiting Silverlight enabled website. "To enable Silverlight content to display correctly, it's important that you modify default HTML file that embeds tag. This's required because of a limitation with S60 web browser which causes it to crash," explains Microsoft.

To modify, Open generated HTML file in Code Editor:

to

Data parameter value of tag should be modified to a valid resource that the browser can download by using HTTP. The resource can be an empty file of size equal to zero bytes. Few examples of valid data values:

data="someApplicationName.xap" | data="ZeroByteFile.xap".

If you've Nokia 5800 phone, you can try upgrading your firmware to 7.2 version of S60 browser, that fixes this limitation.
