"Life in a Day," is a historic cinematic experiment by Google and LG, that let you "document one day on camera, as seen through the eyes of people around the world."

"Kevin Macdonald, Oscar-winning director of films 'The Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void and One Day in September,' will edit "most compelling footage" into a feature documentary film, to be produced by Ridley Scott, director of 'Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Thelma & Louise, Blade Runner and Robin Hood.'

The film will premiere at 2011 Sundance Film Festival and if your footage makes into final cut, you'll be credited as a co-director and may be one of 20 contributors selected to attend the premiere. Regardless of whether your footage makes into final, your video(s) will live on "Life in a Day" channel as a time capsule that'll tell future generations what it was like to be alive on July 24, 2010.

Here's what to do:

  1. Visit "Life in a Day", read through steps required to participate and guidelines for creating video(s)
  2. On July 24, capture a snapshot of your life on camera
  3. Upload your footage to "Life in a Day" any time before July 31.
