StatCounter, a web analytics company claims in its latest global data set that "IE6 usage in the US and Europe has fallen to 5.19% of the market from 12.17% a year ago." That said, Internet Explorer 8 usage in the US increased to 30.85% in May (up from 8.33% a year ago) while IE7 is currently at 16.84%, so it isn't all bad news for Redmond. Firefox was at Firefox 3.6 with 19.62%, while Google Chrome has 6.62%.

Results from Net Applications although paint a different numbers: IE's overall share dropping to 59.69% in May 2010, Firefox at 24.35% mark, Chrome's usage at 7.05%, and Opera 2.43%.
