Microsoft will release “two Critical bulletins addressing two vulnerabilities - one in Windows and one in Office, on May 11. Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 customers will be offered Windows related update but they aren’t vulnerable in their default configurations. For Security Advisory for SharePoint, 983438, our teams are still working on an update for that issue. In the meantime, customers must review the advisory and apply workarounds. On a side note, support for customers of Windows 2000 and Windows XP SP2 platforms will end after July 13, 2010, and should upgrade to either a supported operating system or latest service pack,” said Microsoft in advance notification for May security bulletin.
