Brightcove and TubeMogul's online video index and quarterly research report has found that “Google generates the highest volume of referral traffic to online video content, followed by Yahoo!, Bing and Facebook. Compared to search engines and other social media sites, Twitter referrals generate highest level of consumer engagement for online video content from broadcast networks, magazine publishers and music labels. Newspaper publishers see highest level of engagement from viewers who find their content via Yahoo!,” revealed. The research report draws on three data sources: Platform data from a sample of Brightcove media customers; Consumer engagement reports based on TubeMogul’s online video analytics from this aggregate data set; and, Results from a questionnaire sent to Brightcove media customers (n=104).
