Microsoft made available Project 2010 Professional and Standard client both x86 and x64, and Project Server 2010 via MSFT Volume Licensing since May 3rd, 2010. “Many different languages are already available (use drop-down to select) and still more to come. You’ll also need SharePoint Server 2010, with an Enterprise key, and in the same language as Project. As a reminder, Project Server and SharePoint Server 2010 are x64 only, and require x64 SQL Server. You might like to try newly released, and available from same download, SQL Server 2008 R2. The client come in both x86 and x64 – but you cannot mix and match different programs from Office suite (including Visio, Project and SharePoint Designer) on different architectures. So all must be installed x86 or all x64,” writes Brian Smith. “Other key products that went live on MSDN and TechNet as well today: FAST Search Server 2010, Groove Server 2010, Search Server 2010, and SQL Server 2008 R2.”
