“WHS Trigger” is a new Windows Home Server add-in that “let you schedule tasks such as to automate WHS Backup tasks or cleanup/housekeeping jobs like the Disk Defragmenter to run at the time that is most convenient for you. WHS Trigger allows you to schedule tasks to run daily, weekly, monthly, or at certain times (such as system startup). The notification engine gives users notifications of running tasks or failed tasks by analyzing the task return code. Of course, there’s a lot more you can do with WHS Trigger if you know a little bit about scripting, but that is another tutorial for another time. The author, “Alexander Kent” stresses that WHS Trigger is currently in beta and is primarily geared towards the more experienced Windows Home Server user,” noted HomeServerLand.
