Microsoft has released an update to Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG), designed to kick up a notch the remote access solution for corporations. UAG Update 1 is an update to Forefront UAG that provides a number of functionality updates and other improvements. For instance, Forefront UAG Update 1 offers support for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, but also for MSOFBA. Essentially, following integration of Update 1, UAG customers will be able to leverage rich clients with direct access to apps published through UAG, via Office Forms Based Authentication protocol. Additionally, update offers “Remote Desktop access from Windows Vista and Windows XP: Client endpoints running Windows Vista and Windows XP can now access RemoteApps and Remote Desktops published through UAG. Support for site cookies: UAG now supports the use of site cookies for non-alternate access mapping apps, in addition to domain cookies. Support for large CustomUpdate files: Forefront UAG now supports CustomUpdate files up to 1.5 GB in size,” Microsoft reveals.
