Google offers preview of some opt-in/opt-out features on the new YouTube video page design:

  • Highlights view on comments: "highlights view" of comments summarizes top rated comments, uploader comments, video responses and recent comments in a single "front-page story" that you can drill into for more detail.
  • Ratings: New like/dislike ratings system, now display how many people liked or disliked a video. "Videos I Liked" area houses all the videos that you liked. 'Liking' is no longer tied to your Favorites. Favoriting a video is now the first option when you click "save"; you can continue to save videos to your Favorites or create another playlist by typing name. And a site wide 'Most Liked' label is occasionally displayed on a video that other people loved.
