A vast majority of business users plan to deploy Windows 7, reveals Dimensional Research survey sponsored by Dell KACE. No less than 87% out of more than 900 IT professionals indicated that Windows 7 would be deployed in their environment. It sounds like corporate customers have literally had a change of heart as compared to Vista, which they shrugged off almost completely. “46% of the total surveyed revealed they’ve plans to migrate even before the release of SP1,” Diane Hagglund added. The news is very good for Windows 7. More than half plan to deploy before the end of the year with many IT departments not planning to wait for SP1 to deploy. Concerns about performance and reliability have dropped significantly since the release of Windows 7. Key findings include: “86% reported concern about software compatibility when migrating to Windows 7. 25% expressed concerns about Windows 7 performance, down from 47% reported during the 2009 survey.”
