This week at University of Washington, Yahoo! will be kicking off their second half of the 2009-2010 Hack U season. University of Washington hack will be followed by events at Georgia Tech, UT Austin and UC San Diego throughout March and April. “During each of these hack events, Yahoo! developers teach passionate CS, HCI and engineering students about latest and greatest open tools and technologies and web programming tips in a series of tech talks, then spend 24 hours with them to help them build their dream hack for competition held at the end of week,” Yahoo!. That’s the largest online Olympics audience for the period, which included Opening Ceremony and first three days of competition, while Yahoo! Sports attracted more than 17.5 million unique visitors. Yahoo’s Olympics site surpassed both NBC’s Olympics site (6.5 million unique visitors) and ESPN (8.4 million unique visitors) during the same period,” stated Yahoo!.
