Google launched a maps and local business search for 30 countries across Africa “As well as searching online Maps for towns, highways, or roads, Google Maps users can now find local businesses. Businesses can also improve their websites and help customers locate them by installing Maps API. Also there’re a total of 47 countries on African mainland and 53 in all if island nations are included. Looking for a hotel in Casablanca Morocco? Google is testing a new local ad feature. In the screenshot, you'll notice a listing with yellow box and "View Photos" words next to it. Word "Sponsored" appears at the end, indicating the presence of an ad. This new ad feature has been tested in San Jose and Houston, and there's a flat fee of $25 a month in Local Business Center dashboard to access the feature. Google says that “purchasing these ads has no influence on rankings,” despite their inclusion right along there with them. The feature will be rolled out to additional cities, but there is no timeline planned. Enhanced ads can link to photos, video, coupons, directions, reservation sign-ups, or menus.
