Office 2010 helps users switch keyboard automatically to match their language in following applications: OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word. Here’s how it works! Turn on “Automatically switch keyboard to match language of surrounding text” option. Once the option is on, it changes keyboard's layout to language that matches text adjacent to cursor's position. For e.g., if your document contains both English and French text, and you move cursor from English to French text, keyboard layout switches from English to French. This has the same result as when you manually switch keyboard layout from English to French using Language bar. If you don’t want application to switch keyboard automatically, you just turn option off. Here’s how to turn on/off the option: 1. In Word, click on File ribbon tab, and then click Options button 2. In Word Options dialog, select Advanced tab 3. Under Editing Options section, check “Automatically switch keyboard to match language of surrounding text” option.
