When you connect a fingerprint biometric device to this PC, and you install an application that uses the Windows Biometric Framework (WBF) to access the device. You perform one of the following operations: restart the computer; put the computer to sleep; [or] put the computer in hibernation. In this scenario, a Stop error 0x9F may occur,” Microsoft said in KB975599. A supported update is available from Microsoft.
