Microsoft has revamped its 50% off “Up-To-Date discount” available through Open Value Subscription program worldwide. If you see “N-2”, “N” is the current version and “-2” means two prior versions; what this means is that customers running OEM, Retail, or Volume licenses for Office 2007 Professional, Office 2003 Professional, or Office XP Professional, and Windows Vista Business or Windows XP Professional to receive a discount of 50% off their Year 1 licenses for Windows 7 and Office 2007 (or Office 2010, once it is released by June 2010). between January 1 and June 30, 2010!. “50% discount calculations “are based on estimated retail prices and reseller prices may vary,” Microsoft acknowledge. But Eric Ligman say U.S. customers who sign up for the program “would be paying $35.00 for a Windows 7 Professional Upgrade and/or $91.00 for Office 2007 Professional Plus in year 1, plus receiving all of the Software Assurance benefits (such as an automatic upgrade to Office 2010 when it launches, Office Home Use Rights, and much more) for that price.”
