The latest version of “Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer and Firefox” comes with some new features:

  • “Share feature” that makes it easy for you to share any page on the web with your friends over various social networks, blogs or email, by just clicking Share button and selecting Twitter. Toolbar will create a new window with page's title, space for my comments and a link to page is automatically shortened by Google's new URL shortener. You can also share to Blogger, Delicious, Digg, Facebook, Gmail, Hatena (Japan), or other services.
  • My Location feature is "graduated" from Toolbar Labs. It's now available in Toolbar for IE. After you authorize Toolbar to detect your location, you can simply search your query and Toolbar will return search results targeted to your location.
  • Google Sidewiki is now available in nearly all Toolbar languages, and as a Chrome extension.
  • Google URL Shortener squeeze a long URL into fewer characters to make it easier to share with others, particularly on microblogging services such as Twitter. Google URL shortener is not a stand-alone service; you can't use it to shorten links directly at this time, Google blog
