When you run DirectX Diagnostics Tool (Dxdiag.exe) on a computer running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, the diagnostic tool incorrectly reports a DirectX 11 device as a DirectX 10.1 device. This incorrect version information is shown in DDI field on Display tab. This problem is only a reporting error. This problem doesn’t affect DirectX 11 hardware or software functionality of graphics card, explained Microsoft in KB975243. “A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article, and apply only to systems that’e experiencing problem. Therefore, if you’re not severely affected by this problem, its recommend that you wait for next software update that contains this hotfix.”
