Google has been attempting to unify its various account profiles into one unique Google Profile. In this regard, Google’s Brad Fitzpatrick tweeted that Google Profiles can now be used as OpenIDs. What this means? Is that you can sign into any site that accepts OpenID simply by using your Google Profile domain. Few months ago Google started allowing vanity URLs for Profiles, like /mgsiegler, instead of /32090329039402903. Chris Messina has posted a picture (below) of what signing in with OpenID via your Google Profile looks like. Just find your own Google Profile URL: www.google.com/profiles/me and ...then use it to sign in to any OpenID relying party! If you don't have a public profile, you can set up one here.
