Google released “machine-generated automatic captions” for YouTube videos. To achieve this, Google combined “automatic speech recognition (ASR)” technology with YouTube caption system to offer automatic captions, or auto-caps for short. Auto-caps use same voice recognition algorithms in Google Voice to automatically generate captions for video. Captions’ll not always be perfect, but even when they're off, they can still be helpful.
Also launched “automatic caption timing,” or “auto-timing,” to make it easier to create captions manually. With auto-timing, all you need is create a simple text file with all words in the video and Google’ll use ASR technology to figure out when words are spoken and create captions for your video.
