Microsoft’ll be providing “a bit of conversation about Internet Explorer 9” during a keynote at PDC on Nov 18, but isn’t yet ready to deliver even a Community Technology Preview (CTP) of its next-generation browser, a company spokesperson said. Microsoft officials have declined to say anything but the broadest promises of more standards compliance, better security and better performance as its planned set of deliverables for IE 9. In additon, Scott Guthrie is also set to announce Silverlight 4 plans, further pushing the "3 screens and a cloud" vision that Microsoft believes in currently. The software giant sees data and services available across the PC, the phone and TVs. Internet Explorer 9 and Silverlight 4 are essential elements of this vision.
