In Redmond Reader’s Choice Awards newly expanded 2009 survey, Windows Essential Business Server 2008 won Best Group Policy Manager honors in a field of 22 products. Although new to category, WEBS 2008 came out on top with 15.7% of votes. Windows EBS also came in third for Best Storage-Management Product in a field of 29 products. In past years Redmond Reader’s Choice Awards had become almost routine, so editors chose to spice it up a quite a bit in 2009, adding new participants, including new products and updating to latest version of products included. The survey polled for 52 separate awards in categories including Network & Systems Management, Installation & Deployment, Administration, Security, Training & Certification, Storage & Backup and introduced a new category about Virtualization.
