In Windows Virtual PC (WVPC), Virtual Machine start-up and close behavior can be configured to’ve a customized user experience. Some start-up options can actually lead to perceivably faster launching of Virtual Applications. Once a VM’s created, it can be started in desktop mode from WVPC centre. However Windows XP Mode VM can be directly started from Start Menu. If Integration Components (IC) are installed, then by default VM tries to enable Integration Features (IF) on VM start-up. This behaviour can be changed through VPC Settings -> Integration Features -> Uncheck ‘Enable at startup’. However user always has option to manually enable/disable Integration Features while VM’s running, from tools menu as well. The same can also be accomplished through script #1. Start-up time of a VM may be reduced if this setting’s disabled but Integration Features like Clipboard (copy/paste), Drive, Printer and Smart Card redirection’ll not be available. Also POST screen of VM booting would be visible. This may be ideal usage setting where VM needs to be used in isolation from host or is only remotely accessed through Remote Desktop Connection etc.
