In case if you ever want to reinstall System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM), here’s a tip. If you use "Retain Data" option you’ll likely be unable to create Virtual Machines if same build of SCVMM is re-installed. If you try to create a Virtual Machine on a host after reinstallation, following error is encountered, because the certificate’s removed from Host during removal of SCVMM. A re-installation of same build of SCVMM doesn’t replace certificate and its therefore not added back into certificate store on SCVMM server. To resolve, Host must be removed from SCVMM and then re-added as a Host.
