The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will announce the host city for 2016 Summer Olympic and Paralympic games on a global telecast beginning at 11:30 a.m. Chicago time. Competing for the honor are four bid cities: Chicago, Madrid, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro. Google recrods all-time high searches for [2016] from around the globe. Search volume from Spain dwarfs Brazil, the United States and Japan. On Google Trends, [2016 olympic decision] has been steadily moving up all day, with the largest volume of searches coming from Chicago and Atlanta, Google blog.

Update: Rio de Janeiro has been chosen as the host city of the 2016 Summer Olympics, beating Madrid in the final round of voting.
