According to a study by BusinessWeek and Interbrand, Amazon.com's brand value increased by 22% this year to $7.8 billion, making it (along with Google and Zara) one of the top gainers on the list. Amazon is now ranked 43rd, so some people may be forgetting that it is also a river in South America. Microsoft, meanwhile, came in third with a brand value of $56.6 billion, down four percent from the previous year. Coca Cola and IBM finished first and second, respectively.
