Microsoft said that it won't ship Windows 7 "E" in Europe after PC makers complained that having to use the browserless version of Windows 7 for a short period of time would be a pain. "In the wake of last week's developments, as well as continuing feedback on Windows 7 E that we’ve received from computer manufacturers and other business partners, I'm pleased to report that we’ll ship the same version of Windows 7 in Europe in October that we’ll ship in the rest of the world," deputy general counsel Dave Heiner said in a statement. Microsoft On The Issues blog have some interesting points:

the screen’ll not be presented to Windows users whose default is Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera or any other browser
If our proposal’s accepted by the Commission, we’ll update Windows XP and Windows Vista machines throughout Europe with the consumer ballot screen
