Microsoft opens Xbox Live beta preview, users can visit Microsoft Connect site to sign up, which enters them into a pool from which Microsoft’ll select “multiple thousands of participants” to get an early peek at the next version of the software. Those signing up’re required to fill a survey. The sign up is open to all Xbox Live users, in all regions, whether using a Silver (free) or Gold (premium) subscription to the online service. Gold users, however’ll be given preferential treatment. Though it’s reasonable to suspect that users’ll get to play with new features unveiled at this year’s E3, which included music streaming from Last.fm as well as support for Twitter and Facebook. The survey asks if users stream music to their Xbox 360s from other devices in the home, meaning that music playback in one form or another may be a focus of Microsoft’s beta.
