Cook Children’s Health Care System announced that it is collaborating with athenahealth, Inc. and Microsoft Amalga Unified Intelligence System (UIS) 2009 to implement information technology solutions designed to improve care and outcomes for pediatric patients nationwide. Cook Children’s will connect patient data currently stored in disparate systems to Amalga UIS and Microsoft HealthVault, the personal health application platform, allowing patients and their caregivers to access pertinent health records both inside and outside of the system. By connecting health data and making it easily available to healthcare professionals and the patients and families they serve, Cook Children’s intends to improve the quality of pediatric care and outcomes while reducing inefficiencies and costs.
