With the Microsoft’s announcement of Windows 7 Upgrade Option Program & pricing; HP announced that "customers who purchase qualifying HP PCs will receive a free upgrade to Windows 7 when it becomes available in October." Lenovo also announced free upgrade options: "Lenovo will mail you a FREE license upgrade to Windows 7 if you buy a Lenovo laptop or desktop with an eligible Windows Vista version between June 26, 2009 and January 31, 2010." Customers must register their PCs via serial number through Lenovo's Web site to request their free upgrades.

    What about those of us who bought a PC with Vista before June 26th? We have to pay full price to rid ourselves of vista :-P
