Microsoft recognizes that software can play a critical role in helping companies reduce operational costs and their carbon footprint.  We designed our latest operating system, Windows 7 (download), with a strong focus on reducing the overall power consumption by investing in key areas of the platform including performance optimizations, idle resource utilization, device power management, and key end-user scenarios and ways that we’re driving energy efficiency across the PC ecosystem.
