Taptu Mobile search engine launched a free iPhone app compatible with iPhone and iPod touch. Taptu’s iPhone app allows users to quickly and easily search through iPhone-optimized results in an intuitive and visual interface. According to company the engine crawls the web and indexes “iPhone friendly pages”. The index is much smaller than a conventional search engine but “growing every day”. It offers “preview cards” that create a Palm Pre-like experience. You flick or horizontally scroll through preview pages (showing mostly real-time images of the sites) and then touch/click to go to the source page.
