“TYPEPERF,” is a built-in tool that writes performance data to the command window or to a log file. This tool is quite poweful, consider a situation where you need to gather a limited set of performance data from 500 servers at 3:00 am when the backup job kicks off.  Using TYPEPERF, you can configure this in just a few minutes via batch files and scripts. And don’t forget to either use –sc switch to limit the number of samples or use CTRL+C within the command window.
