Last week’s release of DiggBar, which serves as both a new interface for Digg and doubles as a URL shortening service, raised some SEO concerns over PageRank and canonical issues. “Prior to launching the DiggBar, we reached out to Google and SEO experts to ensure we adhered to the leading best practices, as we framed and linked directly to source content via the DiggBar,” responds Digg. If for some reasons, you want block your website / blog from DiggBar, just add the following PHP code near the top of your page:

<?php
if (preg_match('#http://digg.com/\w{1,8}/*(\?.*)?$#',
                            $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']) ) {
    echo "<p>Special message for Digg users here.</p>";
    exit;
}
?>
