If you’re experiencing problems with Internet Explorer 8 (download) being slow to load pages, especially when multiple tabs are involved, the follwoing registry tweak might be worth a try. Because this tweak is simply registering a DLL that should have been registered as part of the IE8 installation.

FOR WINDOWS XP

  1. Click Run, type cmd and press Enter.
  2. In the Command Prompt window, enter this text and press Enter:
  3. regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

  4. Restart your computer.

FOR WINDOWS VISTA/WINDOWS 7

  1. Type cmd in the Start menu Search box.
  2. Right-click the Cmd shortcut that appears at the top of the search results list, Under Programs.
  3. Choose Run As Administrator.
  4. In the Command Prompt window, enter this text and press Enter:
  5. regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

  6. Restart your computer.
