Microsoft has warned users against fake emails claiming to be from the Windows Live team asking them for their account data. Look at the screenshot for a fake email asking for user password and other personal information and claiming to be from the Hotmail or Windows Live team.

If you receive a message that you suspect of being a scam, here’s what to do.

1. Investigate it at check for similar e-mail scams listed here, and here.
2. In Hotmail, click junk, or better yet, click mark as, and then click Phishing scam.
3. If you want to provide more details to Hotmail, send a message to abuse@hotmail.com.
